Paying by card is most likely to be the best and most frequently used payment option and more and more consumers everyday are opting to stay clear of the busy shopping centres and choose internet shopping as a stress free alternative. However, we all need to be vigilant whilst shopping online to prevent ourselves from the possibility of falling victim to fraud.
APACS the UK Payment association launched The ‘Be Card Smart Online’ campaign in Oct 08 to help raise awareness of the simple steps consumers can take to shop safely online.
The campaign highlights four key pieces of advice for consumers;

* Register your cards
* Always Log Out
The Co-operative Bank are also committed to tackling online fraud and demonstrate this by introducing sophisticated fraud initiatives such as VbyV (Verified by Visa) and Kaspersky Internet Security Package 2009
